It's from a manga called Deathnote. If you write someone's name, also knowing their face, in the book they will die. If the cause of death isn't written in 40 seconds they will simply die of a heart attack. If you begin to write the cause you have 6 hours 42 seconds. The books are dropped into the human world by Shinigami (death gods in this, grim reapers in Bleach). It would be awesome to have one. Although I would imagine what the curse side would be =P
